Always have a ticket

Always have a ticket

My new philosophy to a life filled with fun!

If you spend much time with my immediate family, you will learn we like to have fun. Fun is one of our core values, so when I heard the saying “Always have a ticket “ it immediately resonated with me. It means to always have something planned to look forward to. A philosophy to ensure you have excitement brewing and hope on the horizon. I knew it was perfect for my my family! Cause having hope is incredibly powerful. Having something to look forward is often just as fun, as the thing itself.

What kind of ticket?

Any kind of ticket!

It can be a ticket to an event like a concert or a movie. A plane ticket, a camping site reservation, a plan for a day trip. It can a ticket to course, a program, a school. It can be for a service like a massage or getting your hair done.

This saying appeals to me because not only do I love hope, I am also a planner. I feel more settled when I know we have a plan in motion.

Once I mapped out all the tickets I wanted to get between now and September I was able to see how much money I would need to save and put aside. This is key to making FUN a reality! Gabe and I just got our heads around budgeting this year. Along with educating ourselves on how to be smart with taxes, saving for retirement and other financial topics. Budgeting has been taking up a lot of our brain space. I can’t believe I am now saying that budgeting is fun, but I am!!! I HATED it at first - the first 2 months of just making the budget and sitting down to go over our finances pretty much sucked, and was the least fun/sexy activity I could think of. But now that we are in the swing of things, I find it incredibly rewarding. And since fun is a core value for my family, these tickets get priority over other areas in my life.

So, in the spirit of my planning for fun, I wanted to share what I have planned for the next 6 months . . . and maybe you might go work on that sexy budget or book a little something fun as well!
