Cleansing How-To’s
From preparing & enjoying, to getting the best results, we want you to experience the most life-changing and transformative results possible from your juice cleanse or reboot. The beauty of living the Good Life Way is our philosophy is anchored in balance. That means if you want coffee on a cleanse, leave it in. If you’re hungry, have a nosh.
During a 3 day Juice Cleanse you’ll absorb the vitamins, nutrients + enzymes
from 36 lbs of fresh produce!
That’s a lot more nutrients than you would normally consume! You’re setting yourself up for an incredible reboot for your health, while also consuming far fewer calories than normal . So, if you need a little nosh, having an avocado, a protein shake or a coffee is not going to derail any results. Since it will bring you JOY + Satisfaction, it will more than likely lead to even better results! Speaking of results, there’s a few key steps to help make that happen. First up, get down with the prep!
PUT SOME PEP IN YOUR PREP
Opting for beer and pizza the night before a cleanse or reboot might seem like a good idea, but it definitely won't help you FEEL GOOD. Instead, try to eliminate the big offenders - alcohol, refined carbs, heavily processed foods and sugar. Preparing for your cleanse by choosing to eat more fresh veggies + wholesome foods will help your body adapt quickly and efficiently - making your cleanse easier + more successful.
REMEMBER THIS
The goal is to make you feel as good as possible, as easily as possible, and prep is what can make the biggest difference.
A NOTE ABOUT CAFFEINE
We love coffee, so let’s cut to the chase - you can leave it in! Let’s just check in with how much you are currently drinking.
Try to reduce your intake to 1-2 cups per day during your cleanse. If that is a far cry from your current situation, spend a few days weaning it down. During your cleanse enjoy your coffee exactly as you like it. If you want one in the afternoon as well, have it. However if part of your health journey is a goal to be as alkaline as possible during your cleanse, then of course, do what’s best for you and wean yourself off.
DURING YOUR CLEANSE
When you get your Good Life Cleanse or Reboot we include a nifty instruction booklet full of tips on how to get the most out of your cleanse. We also include a suggested order of your juices and when to drink them.
ADDITIONAL TIPS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR EXPERIENCE
1 - HYDRATION
Start each day with a glass of water and aim for a total of 2 litres during the day. Drinking lots of water will greatly aid in the body's elimination process.
2 - HUNGER
If you feel hungry, have your next juice. If that doesn’t cut it, have a nosh. We suggest you include some healthy fats. Our top picks include avocado (either on it’s own or a rice cracker), nut butters (on their own or with some fruit or veg) or a protein shake with a source of healthy fats. The best results come when you listen to your body, not when you deprive your body of what it needs.
3 - SWEAT / EXERCISE
Getting a good sweat on and moving your body can aid the body’s natural detox system and further your sense of feeling good. Our cleanses were designed for light exercise like walking and yoga. If you are keen to keep up with a more intense exercising on a cleanse we highly recommend you add a protein shake and have immediately following your work out.
4 - REST
Let your body rest and recover when you can, and get as much sleep as possible. Giving your body’s nervous systems the opportunity to rest can really further your results. Laying down for 10 minutes with your eyes closed, meditating, practicing legs up the wall, have a bath - all great options!
5 - SELF CARE
We know many of you will do our juice cleanse while still going about your regular routine. We love that for you! However, if the opportunity is available to you, try fitting in some extra self care. Nourish your mind + spirit while we take care of nourishing your body. Not only will you experience better results, you’ll be reminded of how good it feels when you slow down, tune in and be GOOD to YOURSELF! When it comes to self care, our motto has always been to lay it on thick and lay it on often.
