Chocolate Salted Caramels with Collagen
SALTED CHOCOLATE CARAMEL RECIPE
with collagen!
An every day treat inspired by the perfect of combo of chocolate, caramel and salt.
Thanks to the addition of incredibly effective Good Life Collagen, these treats will have you glowing all week long.
Collagen works to repair tissue and elasticity, while increasing the moisture in your skin. It noticeably reduces fine lines and wrinkles, while helping your hair and skin grow faster and healthier.
As I recover from ankle surgery (read more about how I prepared by clicking here!), I’m being super cognicent of a few things. A - I want to fuel myself with nutrient dense foods and juices. B - I want to take collagen daily to help my tissue repair more efficiently and C - I’m being careful with my calorie intake as I’m pretty sedentary not being able to walk. Having a small but incredibly satisfying bite of chocolate every day satisfies my cravings while helping me stay on top of my goals.
In order to to get the full benefits of collagen you should be take 1 Tbsp 5-7 days per week. The small amount of the dessert won’t give you the benefits but they are great way to sneak a little extra in!
INGREDIENTS
2 cups pitted medjool dates
3 tbsp cashew butter (or sub almond)
2 tbsp almond flour
1 tbsp collagen
1.5 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
200 g melted dark chocolate
DIRECTIONS
Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth. Smoosh paste evenly into a small, shallow pan or dish. Put in freezer for 30-60 minutes or until hard. Melt chocolate. Remove caramel from freezer and cut into bite sized squares. Dip into melted chocolate and place on parchment lined plate. Add some more salt on top then pop back into the freezer until chocolate hardens, then store in an air tight container in the fridge. I like to take mine out for 10 minutes before I eat it to let it warm up a bit!
ENJOY!!!
XO, Andrea
